Features and Capabilities


Unified Communications Manager Version 11 builds upon prior versions to deliver better user experiences, lower cost of ownership, and extended collaboration beyond the firewall. Key improvements in this release follow.

Instant messaging and presence enterprise groups can now synchronize with Microsoft Active Directory, leading to more automation and a better user experience.

Deliver better security. Next-generation encryption includes TLS 1.2, AES-256 RSA, and ECDSA-based cipher support for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Sequenced Routing Update Protocol (SRTP) interfaces.

Support emergency calling by allowing administrators to define emergency response (ELIN) groups. The endpoints can be associated based on the device pool administrators are in, and receive appropriate emergency call treatment. Customers gain more value and reduce cost of ownership.

Promote better user experiences. Version 11’s conference bridging utilizes an interactive voice response (IVR) directory number to help enable both internal and external callers to join a conference. The call can be established using a meeting number, which is the same as the user’s self-service user ID.
