Employee Giving and Volunteering

We empower Cisco employees to support and contribute to causes they care about — giving their time, money, talent, and skills to make a positive impact on people, society, and the planet.

Employees can donate to causes around the world, have their donations matched by Cisco, organize and participate in volunteer activities, and get their volunteer time matched with a donation from Cisco.

  • 100,000+ nonprofits and nongovernmental organizations eligible for the Matching Gifts Program
  • Up to US$10,000 in matching gifts per employee per calendar year
  • US$10 per hour of volunteer time for eligible volunteer efforts
  • 10 paid days off each calendar year for employees to volunteer through our Time2Give program

Employee giving and volunteering are linked to positive outcomes for both individuals and the business. Our three-year study found that participants — compared to nonparticipants — experienced:

  • Higher individual performance
  • Higher promotion rates
  • Lower attrition rates
  • Higher peer recognition

Engaging Employees with Environmental Sustainability

Cisco engages employees in environmental sustainability through awareness, educational activities, and volunteering opportunities. For example:

  • Our annual Recycle IT Day enables employees to bring in used electronics for recycling.
  • The Global Green Team Network, one of Cisco's Inclusive Communities, promotes local sustainability efforts in regions around the world.
  • Earth Aware is an annual, employee-led, two-month awareness and volunteering campaign with educational webinars, virtual workshops, and in-person activities.
