Overview

The Cisco Business Value Specialist is a certification program for sales professionals that engage in customer conversations designed to pinpoint a strategic view of customer needs, lead stakeholders to consensus decisions, and produce cross-architectural roadmaps. This certification will help candidates to become and succeed as a trusted advisor, to engage in and lead customers through comprehensive, relevant business discussions.

Selling Business Outcomes (OUTCOMES)

This course is the foundation of Cisco's business sales skills curriculum. The course builds core knowledge and abilities for selling technology services and solutions with a business outcome focus.

This course will enable students to:

  • better understand the customer business context.
  • identify how technology solutions can be positioned to meet customer-defined needs or business outcomes.
  • generate increased opportunity pipeline, revenue and profit for Cisco and/or Channel Partners.

Applying Cisco Specialized Business Value Analysis Skills (BTASBVA)

This course builds practical skills on solutions- and outcome-based selling approaches. Self-study modules, instructor facilitated discussion and exercises cover the full sales process, from prospecting through winning deals and spurring adoption and usage.

It includes new modules covering Cisco's unique outcome-based selling approach (steps). These steps were defined with pipeline growth, shorter sales cycles, and faster adoption of technology among the top outcomes.

To earn this Cisco certification, you must pass the following exam(s):

810-403 OUTCOMES

Retired: December 29, 2017

This exam tests a candidate's knowledge and skills related to selling technology services and solutions with a business outcome focus. Questions cover essential capabilities to grow pipeline and revenue through work across sales stages from "Prospect" through "Close".

820-424 BTASBVA

Retired: December 29, 2017

This exam tests a candidate's knowledge and core skills to successfully execute solutions- and outcome-based selling.

Recertification

Cisco Specialist certifications are valid for two years. To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

  • Executing Cisco Advanced Business Value Analysis and Design Techniques (840-425 BTEABVD) or
  • Applying Cisco Specialized Business Value Analysis Skills (820-424 BTASBVA) exam

NOTE: The Cisco Business Value Analyst Specialist certification is scheduled to retire on December 29, 2017. The certification remains active until the certification expiration held by the candidate. Once the expiration date has arrived, the certification will not be available for recertification.
