This document describes the features, issues, and exceptions of Cisco NX-OS Release 10.2(1)F software for use on Cisco Nexus 3500 and 3600 platform switches.

Smart Licensing Using Policy

Smart Licensing Using Policy (SLP) is an enhanced version of Smart Licensing, which provides a licensing solution that does not interrupt the operations of your network and to enable a compliance relationship to account for the hardware and software licenses you purchase and use. SLP solution provides a seamless experience with various aspects of licensing such as purchase, use, report license usage to CSSM through Resource Utilization Measurement (RUM) report, and reconciliation. The only enforcement type supported is Unenforced or Not Enforced on Cisco Nexus 9000 and 3000 platform switches.

The enhanced features listed below are existing features introduced in earlier releases but enhanced to support new platforms in Cisco NX-OS Release 10.2(1)F.

Single 64-bit Image Support and 64-bit and 32-bit to 64-bit ISSU

Added 32-bit image support for Cisco Nexus 3524-XL, Cisco Nexus 3548-XL, Cisco Nexus 36180YC-R, and Cisco Nexus 3636C-R switches..

New Hardware Features

Cisco NX-OS Release 10.2(1)F does not include any new hardware for the Cisco Nexus 3000 Series.

Release Image

Cisco Nexus 3000 Series platforms support 32-bit image and do not support 64-bit image.

Open Issues

There are no open issues in Cisco Nexus 3500 and Cisco Nexus 3600 family switches for Cisco NX-OS Release 10.2(1)F.

Symptoms: N3500 interface rx counters are not incrementing.

Workarounds: Reload ascii of N3500.

Headline: Nexus 3000: Upgrade from 6.0(2)U6(x) to 7.0(3)I7(x) causes port-channel config to be missing

Symptoms: Physical members of port-channel interfaces will be missing their "channel-group...." configuration post-upgrade. Accounting log post-upgrade shows FAILURE when configuration replay is attempted by the Nexus device.

Workarounds: Re-configure speed/duplex for the member interfaces and re-add channel-group config post-upgrade. Alternatively, you can upgrade to 7.0(3)I4(6) first, then jump to 7.0(3)I7(x). Issue does not seem reproduce-able then.

Headline: N36180 incorrectly reject valid 'system routing unknown-unicast-flood' cli

Symptoms: Valid cli  'no system routing unknown-unicast-flood' is not accepted by parser.

Workarounds: N/A

The Cisco Nexus 3636C-R is a 1 rack unit (RU) switch with 36 100-Gigabit QSFP28 ports, 40-Gigabit QSFP, 2 management ports, 1 console port, and 1 USB port. The switch supports both port-side exhaust and port-side intake airflow schemes. The switch has two power supplies, one for operations and the other for redundancy. Both power supplies must be either AC power supplies or DC power supplies.

N3K-C36180YC-R

 

The Cisco Nexus 36180YC-R is a 1 rack unit (RU) switch with 48 1/10/25-Gigabit SFP ports and 6 40-Gigabit QSFP/100-Gigabit QSFP28 ports, 1 management port, 1 console port, and 1 USB port. The switch supports both port-side exhaust and port-side intake airflow schemes. The switch has two power supplies, one for operations and the other for redundancy. Both power supplies must be either AC power supplies or DC power supplies.

 

Upgrade and Downgrade

Upgrading Cisco Nexus 3500 and Cisco Nexus 3600  Series Switches

MIB Support

The Cisco Management Information Base (MIB) list includes Cisco proprietary MIBs and many other Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard MIBs. These standard MIBs are defined in Requests for Comments (RFCs). To find specific MIB information, you must examine the Cisco proprietary MIB structure and related IETF-standard MIBs supported by the Cisco Nexus 3000 Series switch.
