The purpose of this document is to provide instructions to completely remove the Cisco Information Server (CIS) Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver from the system and have it no longer appear in the Windows ODBC administrator.
How do you remove the Cisco Information Server ODBC driver from a Windows client machine?
This requires that you have either:
- The odbc driver component installed under this path: <composite home>\apps\odbc
- The contents of an odbc hotfix file unzipped in a temp directory on the Windows host
In either case, locate and execute this file from a command session window.
To uninstall the CIS version 6.1 ODBC driver, enter the command:
To uninstall the CIS Version 6.2 ODBC driver, enter the command:
In this successful example, the usage simply causes the cmd prompt to return, without any errors or messages.
C:\Program Files\Composite Software\CompositeSoftware6.2.0\apps\odbc64>CsOdbcInstall61_x64.exe -uninstall
C:\Program Files\Composite Software\CompositeSoftware6.2.0\apps\odbc64>
Afterwards, you will see the driver entry no longer existing in the odbc admininstrator and the corresponding file
C:\Windows\System32\composite62_x64.dll is deleted.
If there are any issues with these steps, look for any errors in the C:\CompositeInstall.log file .
