The purpose of this document to provide an example of a command to export only the list of users from the Cisco Information Server (CIS) instance into a .car file that can be imported into another CIS instance.
How can you export/migrate only the users that are registered in the CIS?
You can use the package export utility with the -includeAllUsers option in order to export the users, as mentioned in the "To Use the Package Export Utility" section of the Cisco Information Server Administration Guide.
To migrate only users, domains, and groups, run the pkg_export script to produce the car file.
The car file can be imported into another CIS instance using the pkg_import script.
The example usage is:
<CIS_INSTALL_DIR>\bin\pkg_export.bat -pkgfile mycarfile.car -server localhost -port 9400 -user admin -password admin -domain composite -includeAllUsers
By default, an export/import of an individual project resource (a package level export/import) does not include users information unless you opt to include it in the process using -includeAllUsers option.
If the users are not opted and they do not already exist on the destination server, then the objects are owned by the nobody system user.
