This document describes how to configure the number of records that can be buffered in each buffer file on the Cisco Information Server (CIS) in order to tune cache performance. When the Native Loading Option is used in order to cache to datasources such as Netezza and Vertica, internally the source data is first buffered to files that are loaded into the cache target tables via the native bulk loading tools.
Alter the Buffer Flush Threshold Parameter
You can control the sizes of the buffer files (the temp files) that are bulk loaded into the cache target datasources, such as Vertica and Netezza, when you use caching with native or bulk loading. The default seems to be 10,000 records. However, you can alter the batch size in the Buffer Flush Threshold parameter, as shown in this image:
This is a data-ship configuration item, but it uses the same loader that is used for the native cache.
