This document is a how-to guide for customers with existing Cisco® Catalyst® deployments describing how they can get units for Cisco ThousandEyes® cloud and internet intelligence with their Cisco DNA Advantage, as part of the Cisco DNA software subscription offer for embedded Cisco ThousandEyes.
Customers with existing Catalyst switches need the following in order to claim this offer:
● Catalyst 9300 Series (including 9300L) or 9400 Series switches.
● Cisco DNA Advantage running on these Catalyst switches.
● The Cisco DNA licenses being active (not currently expired).
● Access to Cisco License Central or Cisco Smart Software Manager to request the Cisco ThousandEyes units.
● Access to the email address configured on the Smart Account or Virtual Account to receive confirmation via email from Cisco.
To get started with this process, log in to Cisco License Central using your Cisco credentials.
Cisco License Central serves as the primary hub for managing your contracts, software entitlements, devices, services, and subscriptions. This platform is designed to consolidate management, allowing you to oversee modern Smart Licenses alongside legacy PAK-based licenses within a single, unified interface. Users can efficiently plan and monitor assets, track usage, download licenses, and manage virtual account assignments, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting informed business decisions.
Additional licensing tools include:
● Cisco Smart Software Manager (SSM): Legacy tool that enables product instance registration and usage reporting. software.cisco.com.
● License Registration Portal (LRP): Facilitates the management and download of traditional, PAK-based licenses. software.cisco.com.
● Ask Licensing: License management digital support tool designed to automate transactions based on simple user input, provide self-help options, or direct access to dedicated support agents for more complex issues. Support Case Manager.
