The Connected Imaging-Medical Image Infrastructure solution is based on the Cisco and partner technologies that provide a highly available and scalable infrastructure to support the various Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) used today. The Connected Imaging-Medical Image Infrastructure solution addresses scalability, application, and storage performance challenges with advanced networking, image routing, and storage technologies. This portion of the end-to-end image management solution improves image availability, and provides outstanding storage performance at low cost. Through the Cisco Medical-Grade Network (MGN), the Cisco Connected Imaging solution provides scalable imaging services and increases PACS performance, to manage today's high-bandwidth images. It supports centralized image storage for quick image access and retrieval across a distributed storage environment.

The applications of these products are produced through direct consultation with radiology or imaging services providers to address many key concerns as the growth and complexity of imaging services increases exponentially. By addressing these issues, CI can provide direct value to clinical leadership and have the clinical leadership include advanced infrastructure technologies in imaging services budgets.
