CIMC Config Mode Command Reference

cimc

Configures the CIMC Alerts Exporter configuration.

Command Mode

Exec > Global Configuration

Syntax

cimc enabled { false | true} 

enabled { false | true}

Specify to enable or disable the CIMC Alerts Exporter.

Must be one of the following:

  • false

  • true

Default Value: false.

Usage Guidelines

Use this command to configure the CIMC Alerts Exporter configuration.

cimc cluster

Configures the list of CIMC clusters to be monitored.

Command Mode

Exec > Global Configuration

Syntax

cluster cluster_name 

cluster_name

Specify the cluster name, used for label.

Must be a string in the pattern [a-z0-9][a-z0-9\.\-]*[a-z0-9].

Usage Guidelines

Use this command to configure the list of CIMC clusters to be monitored.

cimc cluster default

Configures the default values to be used on all CIMC connections.

Command Mode

Syntax

default username user_name password password 

password password

Specify the default password used to connect CIMC.

Must be a string.

username user_name

Specify the default user name used to connect CIMC.

Must be a string.

Usage Guidelines

Use this command to configure the default values to be used on all CIMC connections.

cimc cluster server

Configures the CIMC server parameters.

Syntax

server cimc_server_name ip ip_address/host_name username user_name password password 

ip ip_address/host_name

Specify the CIMC server IP address or host name.

Must be a string.

password password

Specify the password to connect CIMC.

Must be a string.

username user_name

Specify the user name to connect CIMC.

Must be a string.

cimc_server_name

Specify the CIMC server name to use in alerts.

Must be a string.

Usage Guidelines

Use this command to configure the default values to be used on all CIMC connections.

node-problem-detector agent

Enable Node Problem Detector (NPD), the diagnostic tool, to identify and report problems that may impact node performance.

Syntax

node-problem-detector agent enabled 

Usage Guidelines

This command enables NPD with default configurations and built-in monitoring rules for detecting well-known issues. By default NPD is disabled.

When the NPD is enabled, it is easy to monitor and manage the health of all nodes on the cluster.
