Setup for WebEx Connect and Unified Communications Manager
This chapter describes how you can set up Jabber for iPad by using the WebEx Connect Administration Tool and Unified Communications Manager.

Setting up with Cisco WebEx Connect Administration Tool
The Cisco WebEx Connect Administration Tool allows you to specify settings for instant messaging (IM), availability, and integration with Unified Communications Manager. Cisco recommends that you perform the tasks in this order.

If a user already has both Connect and Unified CM set up in the desktop application, the settings automatically take effect in Jabber for iPad.

Unified Communications Manager setup in combined deployment
When setting up Unified CM for the combined deployment of WebEx Connect and Unified CM, you use the same procedure described in the chapter for the Unified CM-only deployment. See Setup for Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
Preparing user instructions
Send an email message with the information that your users need to use Connect and Unified CM in Jabber for iPad. The information includes the following:
- Directions to download and install the app, named "Cisco Jabber for iPad," from the App Store
- Credentials for the user's accounts:
- Directions to set up accounts in this order:
- Select after users start the application on their iPad devices.
- Set up Unified CM from Settings in the application.
Caution
If users sign in to their Unified CM accounts first, they cannot set up WebEx Connect in the application.
