Bias-Free Language

The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. For the purposes of this documentation set, bias-free is defined as language that does not imply discrimination based on age, disability, gender, racial identity, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and intersectionality. Exceptions may be present in the documentation due to language that is hardcoded in the user interfaces of the product software, language used based on RFP documentation, or language that is used by a referenced third-party product. Data Center Networking products

Data Center Networking Business Unit Announces transition to mandatory adoption of Smart Account for DCN SW License Bookings beginning May 1, 2020

Beginning May 1, 2020, the Data Center Networking Business Unit will mandate the use of Smart Accounts for DCN Software License Orders for Nexus 9000 and Nexus 3000 including ACI, Network Assurance Engine (NAE), Network Insights, NX-OS and DCNM-LAN licenses. Any order having a software license PID for these products, will mandate the need for a Smart Account (and or Holding Account) at the time of booking in Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW). All customers, distributors and partners are advised of this change in behavior.

Mandating Smart Accounts does not mean Smart Licensing is the only option to use the products. NX-OS and DCNM continue to support both traditional licensing and Smart Licensing, from NX-OS 9.3.3 and DCNM 11.1 respectively. ACI supports Smart Licensing starting from ACI 3.2. NAE supports Smart Licensing starting NAE 4.1. Smart Licensing for NIA and NIR through APIC for ACI deployment and DCNM for NX-OS deployment is planned to be supported in the future.

MDS and DCNM-SAN licenses are excluded from this mandate.
