Cisco Enterprise Agreement Workspace integration

Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager Release 20.18.1

Cisco SD-WAN Manager can transfer licenses from the Cisco Enterprise Agreement Workspace to Cisco Smart Software Manager (Cisco SSM). This enables the synchronization between SD-WAN Manager and Cisco SSM to include licenses acquired through the Cisco Enterprise Agreement system.

Cisco Enterprise Agreement licenses

Cisco Enterprise Agreement (EA) is a system for purchasing and managing Cisco services, including the purchase of licenses.

See the documentation of Cisco Enterprise Agreement 3.0 for details.

Cisco SD-WAN Manager can load licenses from Cisco Smart Software Manager (Cisco SSM), which enables you to assign licenses to devices in the network. But SD-WAN Manager SD-WAN Manager cannot load licenses directly from the EA Workspace.

Transferring licenses from Cisco EA to Cisco SSM

If you have licenses stored in the EA Workspace, you can manually transfer the licenses to Cisco SSM, a process called generating a license in the EA Workspace. You can then synchronize Cisco SD-WAN Manager with Cisco SSM to use the licenses.

A more streamlined alternative is to use Cisco SD-WAN Manager to transfer licenses from EA Workspace to Cisco SSM, then synchronize Cisco SD-WAN Manager with Cisco SSM to use the licenses.

Transfer licenses from EA Workspace to Cisco SSM

Transfer licenses from EA Workspace

This procedure transfers licenses from a source Virtual Account (VA) in the EA Workspace, to a destination VA in Cisco Smart Software Manager (Cisco SSM). It then synchronizes Cisco SD-WAN Manager with the licenses stored in Cisco SSM.

Before you begin

Follow these steps to transfer license from the EA Workspace to Cisco SSM.

SUMMARY STEPS

  1. Specify a Virtual Account (VA) that contains the licenses you want to transfer from the EA Workspace.
  2. Transfer specific licenses to the target VA in Cisco SSM.

DETAILED STEPS

Step 1

Specify a Virtual Account (VA) that contains the licenses you want to transfer from the EA Workspace.

  1. From the Cisco SD-WAN Manager menu, choose Administration > License Management > License repository.

  2. Click Sync licenses.

  3. In the Sync licenses pane, select a Smart Account that includes the source VA containing the licenses you want to transfer from EA Workspace.

  4. Enable the Sync with Enterprise Agreement workspace control.

This control is available only if, in a previous step, you have selected a Smart Account that is linked to Cisco EA.

  5. In Source virtual account from EA workspace, select a source VA containing the licenses you want to transfer.

  6. Click Sync.

Step 2

Transfer specific licenses to the target VA in Cisco SSM.

  1. From the Cisco SD-WAN Manager menu, choose Administration > License Management > License repository.

  2. Click Generate EA licenses.

  3. In Target virtual account on the CSSM, choose a target VA for transferring the licenses, and click Save.

  4. View the license types, and choose which licenses to transfer to Cisco SSM, including the number of license instances.

  5. Click Next to view a summary.

  6. Click Generate EA licenses to transfer the licenses to Cisco SSM.

SD-WAN Manager indicates when the transfer is complete. The licenses are now available in Cisco SSM.

The table shows the licenses available in Cisco SSM, including the licenses transferred from EA Workspace.
