New software features

This section provides a brief description of the new software features introduced in this release.

Software reliability	Peer card support for 15454-M-10x10G-LC line card	The 15454-M-10x10G-LC line card now supports enhanced interoperability, allowing it to function as a peer card for the 15454-M-100G-LC-C or interwork with the 400G-XP-LC. ● 15454-M-100G-LC-C Pairing: By utilizing the MXP-10x10G operation mode, the 15454-M-10x10G-LC supports a variety of client pluggable ports, including 10GE, OTU2/e, and OC192/STM64. ● 400G-XP-LC Interworking: The 400G-XP-LC card can now peer with one or more 10x10G-LC cards through a CXP interface and a CXP 24-2x12 MPO breakout cable. In this configuration, ensure the OCH-CC is created up to the 400G-XP-LC client port. This functionality allows network operators to increase port density, optimize slot utilization, and streamline the deployment of high-capacity muxponder services.
Software Reliability	AR-MXP (Any-Rate Muxponder) line card	The Cisco Optical Site Manager now supports the AR-MXP line card, which operates in the MXP-MR-S (Unprotected Multirate Muxponder-Static) mode and supports 1GE and OC48/STM16 client pluggable ports. This line card offers flexible deployment options and compatibility with diverse networking environments.
Software Reliability	400G-XP with OTN cross-connect (OTNXC)	The Cisco Optical Site Manager now supports the 400G-XP-LC card with OTN cross-connect (OTNXC) operating mode without a peer card. The card mode includes OPM-100G and OPM-10x10G slice modes. Based on the configured slice mode, the card supports pluggable ports such as 100GE, OTU4, OTU2, OTU2e, 10GE, OC192, and STM64, enabling efficient management of high-capacity traffic.
Software reliability	Admin Plane user management enhancements	The Admin Plane in Cisco NCS 2000 has been enhanced to support improved multi-user management and authorization capabilities, including: ● Multiple users can be defined in addition to the Superuser. ● Different users can be logged in to the Admin Plane simultaneously (multi-user / multi-session). ● Each user is associated with a pre-defined profile that grants specific authorizations. ● Available profiles include Admin, Operator, and Viewer, each with tailored permissions.
Software Reliability	Reset To Install	The new Reset To Install feature enhances the existing Reset To Factory Default feature. It allows you to reset and reconfigure an SVO card without requiring a full factory reset. This feature preserves your currently running and previously downloaded software images, helping you resolve networking or installation issues while minimizing downtime and eliminating the need to re-download or reinstall software.
Ease of use	Expert Mode Enhancements for Diagnostics	● ShowTech Support and Fast Diagnostics are now located in the new Expert Mode section, with ShowTech Support renamed to Custom ShowTech. ● You can now increase the log collection timeout using the Watchdog Timeout setting. This lets you extend the default 30-minute limit, ensuring log collection completes without premature termination and preventing incomplete diagnostic data.
Ease of use	Download Device-Specific Configuration	The COSM Setup now includes a Custom Download button, enabling you to download configuration details for a specific device. This feature provides quick access to targeted configuration data, improving efficiency when retrieving device-specific information.
Ease of use	Enhanced Alarm Notification Management	You can now manage alert notifications from the Alarms tab by adjusting alarm severity levels and suppressing alarms as needed. Changing alarm severity helps you prioritize critical alerts, while suppression prevents unnecessary or redundant notifications, resulting in a more efficient monitoring workflow.
Ease of use	HA Device Role Monitoring and Management	You can now monitor Cisco Optical Site Manager HA device roles and manage operations from the HA view page. This page lists the host devices configured in HA mode, displays active or standby status, and allows you to restart the application or switch server roles during high-availability operation.
Software Reliablity	Multi-region OTDR scan	Now you can perform manual OTDR scan in multi region mode that is optimized for specific regions of the fiber span: closer, Office, Short, and Long. Each region uses a predefined pulse width and scan configuration. This mode generates separate SOR files with the file name including the name of the region. It is particularly useful for comprehensive analysis over varying span distances.

Software and hardware requirements

Before you begin to install the software, you must check whether your system meets the following minimum hardware requirements:

● Operating System — Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 or later, macOS Mojave (10.14) and later.

● Browser — Mozilla Firefox 149.0 and Google Chrome 147.0

Hardware requirements

● Intel Core i5, i7, or faster processor.

● A minimum of 4 GB RAM, 100 GB hard disk with 250 MB of available hard drive space.
