What's New
|
Feature |
Description |
|---|---|
| Organization Administrator Access to PnP Unclaimed Devices |
Adds a system-level setting under Provision > Network Plug and Play > Settings to control Organization Administrator access to PnP Unclaimed Devices. The setting is disabled by default. When enabled, Organization Administrators can access Unclaimed Devices, and all related actions are recorded in the Audit Log. |
| Global Sharing of PnP Configuration Files |
Allows PnP configuration files to be shared globally across organizations. Shared configuration files are visible to all users and can be applied to devices in any organization. |
| Switch Trunk Port VLAN Configuration Enhancements |
Adds support for allowing all VLANs, 1-4094, on switch trunk ports. Also adds configurable VLAN update behavior for network configuration profiles, allowing users to choose whether profile VLANs are applied to all switch trunk ports, only trunk ports connected to network devices, or no switch trunk ports. Trunk ports already configured to allow all VLANs are not affected by these update modes. |
|
LLDP Enablement Prompt for Cisco IOS Device Discovery |
Adds a discovery notice chip in the topology view when LLDP is needed to discover Cisco IOS devices. |
|
User Profile Completion Reminder |
Adds a non-blocking reminder when the current user profile is incomplete. The Dashboard shows a visual hint on the user avatar, prompting the user to update the required profile information. The reminder disappears after the profile is completed. |

Limitations and Restrictions
The Cisco Business Dashboard limitations and restrictions are described in the following sections:
General Limitations
-
Cisco Business Dashboard running under Ubuntu version 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish) requires use of the AVX CPU instruction set, available on select Intel and AMD processors.
-
The web interface on Cisco Business Dashboard takes a few minutes to become operational after the application is started.
-
Depending on the size of the network, it may take the Probe several minutes to discover all devices and calculate the network topology.
-
Up to 50 network devices can be managed by a single virtual machine or Raspberry Pi Probe instance. Refer to the documentation for the product in question to identify the maximum number of devices supported by an embedded probe running on a Cisco Business network device.
-
Up to 15000 devices can be managed by a single Dashboard instance.
-
A rate limit has been implemented on customer question submissions to the AI Assistant. This enforces a maximum number of questions allowed per defined time period, ensuring balanced system performance and preventing excessive request volumes.
-
SNMPv3 authentication keys and privacy keys must be at least 8 characters in length
-
When using Safari, ensure that the certificate presented by the Cisco Business Dashboard Probe is set to Always Trust.
-
When you deploy Cisco Business Dashboard as a Microsoft Azure virtual machine, if you select the Availability options to enable infrastructure redundancy or specify Standard SKU to create the public IP address, the Dashboard will not be able to automatically populate the external IP addresses in the System Variables. The external IP system variables need to be set manually.
Note
Depending on the way the system has been configured, it may be necessary to regenerate the Dashboard certificate to reference the correct address.
-
When upgrading Cisco Business Dashboard from version 2.7.1 or earlier, if your current installation of Cisco Business Dashboard is configured to use a non-default web server port, after the upgrade, you may need to modify the firewall settings to ensure access to the Cisco Business Dashboard via the custom port is permitted. This limitation has been eliminated in Cisco Business Dashboard version 2.8.0 and later.
System Backup and Restore
-
When performing a system backup or restore, Cisco Business Dashboard will prevent you from doing any further configuration actions.
