Display Optical Module Status on the 200/300 Series Managed Switches
The 200/300 Series Managed Switches allows you to plug in a SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceiver in their optical modules to connect fiber-optic cables. Once the transceiver and fiber optic cable are plugged in properly in the switch optical module, the Optical Module Status page offers you the current information for the optical connection, which helps you manage this connection. Also, in case of a failure, you can troubleshoot this connection with the optical module status information.
The objective of this article is to explain the information given about the status of the optical module.
• SF/SG 200 and SF/SG 300 Series Managed Switches
View Optical Module Status
This section shows how to access the Optical Module Status page, and explains the different information given on the 200/300 Series Managed Switches.
Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Administration > Diagnostics > Optical Module Status. The Optical Module Status page opens:
The next information is displayed in the Optical Module Status Table:
• Port — Displays the port number to which the SFP transceiver is currently connected.
• Temperature — Displays the temperature in Celsius at which the SFP operates.
• Voltage — Displays the voltage at which the SFP operates.
• Current — Displays the amount of current consumed by the SFP.
• Output Power — Displays the amount of optical power transmitted.
• Input Power — Displays the amount of optical power received.
• Transmitter Fault — Displays the signal loss reported by the remote SFP. Values of this field can be True (Some signal has been lost), False (No signal has been lost) or No Signal (N/S).
• Loss of Signal — Displays the signal loss reported by the local SFP. Values of this field can be True (Some signal have been lost) or False (No signal have been lost).
• Data Ready — Displays whether the SFP is operational or not. Values of this field can be True (Operational) or False (Not operational).
