Description

The Splunk ES Content Update App does have biweekly releases, but in January 2024 due to security threats, the version update had five releases.

On January 11, version 4.19.0 was released, followed by version 4.20.0 on January 18, version 4.21.0 on January 23, version 4.22.0 on January 26, and version 4.23.0 on January 31.

 

The following are modified and added In the recent releases:

  • Version 4.19.0 includes 25 new Analytics and 2 new Analytic Stories, along with updates to 3 existing Analytics Stories and 6 existing Analytics.
  • Version 4.20.0 introduces 3 new Analytics and 1 new Analytic Story.
  • Version 4.21.0 adds 2 new Analytics and 1 new Analytic Story.
  • The latest releases, Version 4.22.0  and Version 4.23.0 include various updates. V4.22.0 features one new Analytic Story, one new Analytic, and three updated Analytics, while V4.23.0 includes one new Analytic Story, 39 new Analytics, and 15 updated Analytics.
  • However, there exists no formal policy or standard procedure governing releases and announcements. The typical practice entails coordinating releases and announcements every two weeks.
  • Unless there is a security threat, the team intends to adhere to a biweekly release schedule moving forward.
