• Custom Visualization Framework (within Studio): Custom visualization components can be packaged as a Splunk app and installed via Splunkbase. Studio handles the integration of these components automatically.
• Custom Splunk App (outside Studio): For full control over styling and arbitrary endpoint calls, developers can build custom apps using Splunk Create and React. This method is not a direct replacement for SXML. Developers must define custom components and register them via a custom preset for the Dashboard Framework. Note that this approach requires manual implementation of features such as event handlers and data persistence, as these are not natively provided in this configuration.
