Splunk Enterprise

Description

It is required to migrate a Dashboard Studio to classic and also the PDF generation does not work for Dashboard Studio, looking for options on this as PDF generation only works for Classic dashboards and for Dashboard Studio only the Download PDF option is available.


Investigation

The option to export PDF does not come up with the dashboard studio, this is the only dashboard studio available in the tested environment, the download option is available but not the schedule PDF one, for classic it is present. The user has admin role and has the capabilities based on documentation The environment is using Splunk Enterprise version 9.1.7.

Regarding migration from studio to classic dashboard it was suggested to perform it manually, the option may not be available due the structure on how the dashboards are handled is different, also the feature of schedule PDF is only available for version 9.3.0 onwards as the documentation suggests.


Resolution

Migration from Dashboard Studio to Classic is not possible due, manual creation of the dashboard is required

Upgrade to a latest version of Splunk Enterprise (9.3.0 onwards) to use the schedule PDF generation feature
