An issue in Cisco BroadWorks Application Server (AS) Release 2026.04_1.232 may result in an Open Client Interface (OCI) XML parsing error. This issue may occur because OCI-Provisioning (OCI-P) requests that contain single-quoted attribute values within the XML declaration may fail to process correctly.
This issue affects only Cisco BroadWorks AS Release 2026.04_1.232. Systems running this release may fail to properly interpret XML declarations that use single quotes for attribute values, which deviates from expected parsing behavior. The following is an example of an XML declaration that may cause this issue:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
When an OCI request includes an XML declaration with single-quoted attribute values, the request fails, resulting in an OCI XML parse error. An error message similar to the following may appear:
<summary>[Error 6002] OCI XML parse error</summary>
Solution
Customers are advised to upgrade to Cisco BroadWorks AS Release 2026.04_1.233 or a later release to permanently resolve the issue. Cisco BroadWorks AS Release 2026.04_1.232 has been recalled.
Workaround
To mitigate this issue, ensure that all attribute values within an XML declaration are enclosed in double quotes rather than single quotes.
