Problem Description

When AP.as.22.0.1123.ap372024 is applied:

The application server rejects the initial SIP INVITE with SIP 403 Forbidden when the SIP From: header has no user information in the SIP URL, for example: From:"pstn"<sip:ip-address:port>;tag=1.
The application server rejects the initial SIP INVITE with SIP 403 Forbidden when the SIP From: header contains a URN-scheme URI, for example: From: <urn:service:sos.police>. Application Server does not support URN-scheme SIP From: header in initial SIP INVITE.

Problem Symptom

After application of patch AP.as.22.0.1123.ap372024, the SIP INVITE might be incorrectly rejected.

Workaround/Solution

BroadWorks patches can now be downloaded through the Cisco Software Download Center after logging in with your Cisco.com (CCO) account.

The version of BroadWorks that is currently deployed as well as the patches currently activated can be checked by executing the get versions all command from the CLI. More information on how to check the patch level can be found in the Cisco BroadWorks Maintenance Guide.

Patch

Patch AP.as.22.0.1123.ap374188 is now available on Xchange.

Apply AP.as.22.0.1123.ap374188 along with AP.as.22.0.1123.ap372024 in order to resolve the issue.

When AP.as.22.0.1123.ap374188 is applied:

The application server processes the initial SIP INVITE when the SIP From: header has no user information in the SIP URL.
The application server rejects the initial SIP INVITE with SIP 500 Server Internal Error when the SIP From: header contains a URN-scheme URI.
