A.    Cisco announced support for 5 th Gen Intel® Xeon® processors on our entire Cisco UCS M7 server portfolio.
Q.   Are you dropping support for 4 th Gen Intel Xeon processors for your UCS M7 servers?
A.    No. Both 4 th and 5 th Gen Intel Xeon CPUs are supported in UCS M7 servers. They are socket compatible.
Q.   When will M7 servers with 5 th Gen Intel® Xeon® processors be orderable?
A.    They are orderable today.

Q.   What is the maximum core count provided by the 5 th Gen Intel Xeon processors?
A.    The 5 th Gen Intel Xeon processors provide up to 64 cores each with two threads.
Q.   What other features are enabled with the 5 th Gen Intel Xeon processors?
A.    The 5 th Gen Intel Xeon processors enable support for DDR5 memory up to a speed of 5600 MT/s.
Q.   What are some of the benefits of 5 th Gen Intel Xeon CPUs?
A.    The 5 th Gen Intel Xeon processors bring cores, new on-chip accelerators, support for faster memory, and other architectural changes, all of which will help many customers run their workloads faster. Enhancements to CPU power management will increase efficiency and reduce consumption when idle without impacting application performance.

Cisco UCS X210c M7 Compute Node

Q.   Will the Cisco UCS X210c M7 Compute Node support the Intel 5 th Gen Xeon Platinum 350W CPUs?
A.    Yes. The Cisco UCS X-Series system was designed knowing this CPU was on Intel’s processor roadmap.
Q.   Will the 5 th Gen Intel Xeon Platinum 350W processors require a liquid cooling solution?
A.    No. The current air-cooling solution is sufficient.
Q.   Will the 5 th Gen Intel Xeon Platinum 350W CPUs limit the memory configuration of the Cisco UCS X210c Compute Node?
A.    No. All 32 DIMM slots may be used.

Cisco UCS C220 M7 Rack Server

Q.   Will the Cisco UCS C220 M7 Rack Server support the 5 th Gen Intel Xeon Platinum 350W CPUs?
A.    No. The industry limitations of air-cooling 1RU rack servers prevent this CPU from being used.
Q.   What 5 th Gen Intel Xeon processors are supported?
A.    Processors with up to 300W TDP are supported on the C220 M7 servers.

Q.   Will the Cisco UCS C240 M7 Rack Server support the 5 th Gen Intel Xeon Platinum 350W CPUs?
A.    Yes, the Cisco UCS C240 M7 Rack Server supports 5 th Gen Intel Xeon Platinum 350W CPUs.
Q.   Will the 5 th Gen Intel Xeon Platinum 350W CPUs limit the memory configuration of the UCS C240 M7 server?
