URWB on Cisco Wireless Use Case and Country Support

Overview

Cisco Wireless now supports Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul (URWB) as a feature. Certain access points (APs) can operate with both Wi-Fi and URWB simultaneously. This document outlines the supported AP models and their corresponding use cases.

This document does not apply to standalone URWB, which operates on the Unified Industrial Wireless (UIW) software limited to Industrial Wireless (IW) access points.

Note

URWB on Cisco Wireless is introduced as a beta feature in Release 17.18.1 and is intended for use by customers in testing and lab environments only. Customers should use caution when deploying beta software. While functional, beta features may not be as extensively tested as more mature features have been.

APs supported use cases

Each access point model works for the following use cases. URWB usually uses any access point model, but these use cases and access point combinations have been extensively tested.

Feature availability levels for URWB in this release are defined as follows:

  • Beta: Available in the release for use in customer lab or testing environments.

  • Alpha: Private testing, for the purpose of technical validation in a controlled environment. Please contact urwb@cisco.com for more information.

Country-specific compliance for URWB on Cisco wireless

This table shows the countries where each AP model is approved to use Universal Remote Wireless (URWB) technology. URWB works differently from Wi-Fi technology, so this compliance approval is separate from the platform approval. For comprehensive full compliance details for each AP model, refer to the Product Approval site. This table only lists countries where the product already has platform compliance approval.
