These release notes describe the recommended practices and known issues that apply to software version 1.8.0 of the Android Cisco Business Mobile App.

What's New in Cisco Business Mobile app Version 1.8.0

Cisco Business Mobile app version 1.8.0 introduces the following new features and changes:

  • Supports naming connected clients.

  • Supports finding management IP of CBW primary AP.

  • Supports client and SSID speed limits.

  • Supports LED indicator guide

  • Supports wired connection mode

  • Optimized site creation process

  • Supports blinking switch LED

  • Portuguese language support

  • Cisco Business 200 Series Access Points

  • Cisco Catalyst 1200 and 1300 Series switches.


Note


Cisco Business 350 Series switches with 10Gb Ethernet switch ports and a dedicated out of band (OOB) management port must be on version 3.1.1.7 or above to be installed and configured using the app. Affected models include: CBS350-8XT, CBS350-12XT, CBS350-24XT, CBS350-48XT-4X, CBS350-12XS, CBS350-24XS, CBS350-16XTS, and CBS350-24XTS.


Limitations and Restrictions

The Cisco Mobile app is subject to the following limitations and restrictions:

  • Cisco Business and Catalyst 1200/1300 switches need to connect to an existing Wi-Fi network to be managed by the Cisco Business mobile app. Please refer to the quick start guide that comes with the switches for detailed instructions.

  • The Cisco Business Mobile app for Android is not currently optimized for tablet devices. The app can be used on a tablet, but the user interface may not be optimal.
