Configuring a User-Agent
Use the User-Agent Configuration window to configure the reachability version, that is, to provide backwards compatibility with previous versions of Cisco Unified Personal Communicator. By default, all user-agents that are not specifically configured use reachability version 2, which complies with RFC 4479.
Procedure
Step 1
Perform one of the following actions:
If you want to: ActionAdd a user-agent
a.
Select Presence > User-Agent Configuration.
b.
Click Add New.
Update a user-agent
a.
Find the record as described in "Finding User-Agents" section.
b.
Edit the record as required.
Step 2
Enter the user-agent configuration settings as described in Table 15-1.
Step 3
Complete one of the following actions to save the data:
a.
Click the Save icon that displays in the tool bar in the upper, left corner of the window.
b.
Click Save at the bottom of the window.
Finding User-Agents
Cisco Unified Presence lets you locate specific user-agents on the basis of specific criteria.Because you might have several federated domains configured, Cisco Unified Presence lets you locate federated domains on the basis of specific criteria.
Procedure
Step 1
Select Presence > User-Agent Configuration.
Step 2
To find all records in the database, ensure the dialog box is empty; go to Step 4.
Step 3
To filter or search records, perform one of the following actions:
•
From the first list box, select a search parameter.
•
From the second list box, select a search pattern.
•
Specify the appropriate search text, if applicable.
Step 4
Click Find.
Step 5
From the list of records that display, perform one or more of the following actions:
If you want to: ActionView a record
Click the link for the record.
Reverse the sort order in the record list
Click the up or down arrow, if available, in the list header.

Deleting a User-Agent
Procedure
Step 1
Find the user-agent.
Step 2
From the list of matching records, select the user-agent that you want to delete.
Step 3
Perform one of the following actions to delete the user-agent:
Troubleshooting Tips
If the user-agent is not in use, Cisco Unified Presence deletes it. If it is in use, a message displays.

From the list of matching records, select the user-agent that you want to copy.
Step 3
Complete one of the following actions to copy the data:

Click the Copy icon that displays in the tool bar in the upper, left corner of the window.
b.
Click Copy at the bottom of the window.
Step 4
Enter the user-agent configuration settings as described in Table 15-1.
Step 5
Click Save.
