Cisco InterCloud Fabric Installation Workflow

The following installation workflow describes the information and actions that you must take in order to implement a functioning Cisco Intercloud Fabric.

1. Installing Intercloud Fabric Director Using OVA

Prerequisites:

You need administrator privileges to connect to VMware vSphere or vCenter.
You have downloaded and extracted the latest version of Intercloud Fabric.
Confirm that the Intercloud Fabric OVA image is available from the VMware vSphere Client.
Make sure you are connected to vCenter using a VMware vSphere Client; do not deploy the OVA directly on the ESX host.
You have the minimum system requirements of 8 vCPU, 20 GB RAM, and 350 GB storage on the ESX host.

2. Installing Intercloud Fabric License

Prerequisites:

If you received a zipped license file by email, extract and save the .lic file to your local machine.
Register the Product Access Key (PAK) on the Cisco software license site.

3. Installing Intercloud Fabric Infrastructure Components

Prerequisites:

The VLANs specified in the trunk port profile for internal tunnel trunk interfaces for Intercloud Fabric
Extender and Intercloud Fabric Switch should exist in the trunk port profile for Intercloud Fabric Extender
enterprise trunk interface.
Download the services bundle file from Cisco.com.

4. Creating Intercloud Fabric Cloud and Enabling Services

Prerequisites:

You have created account in the provider cloud such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure.
You have the Cloud provider access ID, access key, and URI information.
You have installed the Intercloud Fabric infrastructure components such as PNSC Intercloud Fabric VSM.
You have configured the Intercloud Fabric infrastructure policies and pools.
You have configured the port profiles for the DVS in the enterprise.
You have created management and data port profiles for Virtual Security Gateway.

Create Intercloud Fabric infrastructure policies, profiles, and pools.
Create port profiles for the Distributed Virtual Switch (DVS) in the enterprise.
Create management and data port profiles for Intercloud Fabric Firewall (Virtual Security Gateway).
Create Intercloud Fabric Cloud using the wizard.

5. Configuring Intercloud Fabric Firewall (VSG)

Instantiate the Intercloud Fabric Firewall.
Configure the compute security profile.
Create a service path.
Bind the service path to the port profile.

6. Configuring Intercloud Fabric Router (CSR 1000V)

Instantiate the Intercloud Fabric Router.
Configure Network Address Translation (NAT) and Port Address Translation (PAT) policies.
