As of March 31, 2026, the CCO Image Download feature is no longer supported, and will no longer work, with the Embedded Wireless Controller on Catalyst Access Points (EWC-AP) system.

This includes:

CCO Mode for Software Upgrade (GUI) - i.e. "Mode CCO" under Administration > Software Management > Software Upgrade
CCO Image Download (CLI) - i.e. image-download-mode cco configured under wireless profile image-download default

As an alternative, download the desired software image(s) from software.cisco.com, and then install them via the TFTP, SFTP or HTTP Image Download methods. See the Image Download chapter in Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller on Catalyst Access Points Configuration Guide, IOS XE 17.15.x.
