Configuration of Transport Protocol on SPA525G and SPA525G2

Objectives

Transport Protocol is a communications protocol used to establish a connection and ensure that all data has arrived safely.

This document explains how to change the ring tone on SPA525G/SPA525G2 IP Phones.

Step-by-Step Procedure

Transport Protocol Configuration on IP Phone

Step 1. Press the Setup button on the IP phone to bring up the Information and Settings menu.

 

Step 2. Scroll up and down with the navigation keys to select Network Configuration. Press Select to bring up the Network Configuration menu.

Step 3. Use the navigation keys to scroll up and down to locate the Transport Protocol option.

Step 4. Use the right navigtion key to choose which setting you would like for the transport protocol. (HTTP, HTTPS, TFTP, NONE)

Note: HTTP means hypertext transfer (or transport) protocol, the data transfer protocol used on the world wide web. HTTPS means hypertext transfer protocol which transfers hypertext requests and information between servers and browsers. TFTP means Trivial File Transfer Protocol which is a file transfer protocol with the functionality of a basic form of file transferring. Also, once you have choose the setting you would like it will stay that way there is no save option or select option.
