SOAR warm/standby script fails to run on the standby node

Applicability

SOAR warm-standby setup

Description

During the initial setup of warm-standby on the standby node, the setup_warm_standby.pyc keeps failing to run showing the same error message.


Investigation

 

  •  The phantom services are running on both primary and standby nodes.
  • The initial run of  setup_warm_standby.pyc on primary node was successful.
  • The  initial run of  setup_warm_standby.pyc on standby node keeps failing with the same error message.

Resolution

 

  • Run the below command on the standby node to clear warm-standby configurations which were added by the previous run(s)  
    • phenv python /opt/phantom/bin/setup_warm_standby.pyc --standby-mode --off
  • Re-run setup_warm_standby.pyc on the standby node. 
    • phenv python /opt/phantom/bin/setup_warm_standby.pyc --standby-mode --configure --primary-ip <IP address of the primary> --standby-ip <IP address of the warm standby>
