Adding Custom property for a synthetic test

Description

There is a requirement to group a set of synthetic tests using a custom property, which will then be used when creating a muting rule. How can a custom property be created for synthetic tests?

Investigation

Custom properties for synthetic tests must be created manually. To group a set of synthetic tests together, the same key-value pair should be added to each test. 

Multiple custom properties can be added to synthetic tests.

Resolution

Steps to create a custom property for a synthetic test - 

1. Open the relevant synthetic test, edit it, and add or update the required custom property in the Custom Properties section.

2. Example : I am adding a custom property called url:home into the custom properties section.

3. Click Save to apply the changes. When creating a new custom property or editing an existing one, make sure the other custom properties remain unchanged.

4. Once saved, the custom property can be used as a filter in dashboards and in muting rules to filter the relevant synthetic tests.
