ERROR "Cannot Communicate with Task Server" in Splunk DB Connect

Description

Getting "Cannot Communicate with task server" after Upgrading Splunk DB Connect to v#3.10.0 or above 

Investigation

For Splunk DB Connect v#3.10.0 or above

Check the KV store status by executing the below command which should be enabled and Running.

./splunk show kvstore-status

Check the java version by executing below command as compatible java versions for Splunk DB Connect v#3.12.1 or above are 11,17 & 18.

java -version

If you find KV is running and java is installed with proper java version then follow the steps provided in resolution.

Resolution

If KV store status is not up and running then it should be in ready state as latest version of Splunk DB Connect have migrated to KV store. 

For v#3.12.1 or above if java version is not 11,17 & 18 kindly perform the below steps.

Comment the java stanza from $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/splunk_app_dbconnect/local/dbx_settings.conf

Remove customized_java.path from darwin_x86_64, darwin_x86, windows_x86_64, windows_x86, linux_86_64, linux_86_64 and restart splunk.

Also make sure that java path is not present in splunk_launch.conf in /opt/splunk/etc.
