SplunkTV or Splunk Mobile cannot load ITSI Glass table and displays "Unable to load visualization" error

Splunk Enterprise Splunk Apps Add ons

Description

Users can open ITSI glass tables on ITSI UI through ITSI Search Heads.
However, when they ties to open the same glass tables on plunkTV or Splunk Mobile, the device displays an error below.

"Unable to load visualization. Unable to connect. Try again later. If the problem persists, contact your admin. [Error: 2]

 

 


Resolution

The latest version of the OnPrem Splunk Secure Gateway shipped through Splunk 8.2.4 is  2.7.4.

This Splunk Secure Gateway version 2.7.4 does not support ITSI glass tables.

There are more unsupported dashboard and visualization objects listed below.
 

The Connected Experiences apps do not support the following features:

  • ITSI Glass Tables
  • Custom HTML, including D3 visualizations
  • XML dashboards that have been converted to HTML
  • Custom JavaScript
  • The <init> element
  • dbx commands

Currently only Splunk Cloud supports Splunk Secure Gateway 2.8.4+ and later versions which has ITSI Glass Tables and other visualization support added.
A newer version of Splunk Secure Gateway which supports ITSI Glass Tables will be released in the next major release of Splunk Enterprise.
For now it is recommended to build and use standard dashboards to display your data until ITSI Glass Tables support is released.
