Due to the scheduled expiration of the certificate used for Cisco Remote PHY Device (RPD) and Cisco Smart PHY 300 and 600 Shelves releases 10.9 and earlier, all software upgrade and downgrade operations to these versions will be disabled effective July 19, 2027.
The certificate used for Cisco RPD releases 10.9 and earlier is set to expire on July 19, 2027. Following this expiration date, Cisco RPD and Cisco Smart PHY 300 and 600 Shelves will not upgrade or downgrade to Cisco RPD Release 10.9 or earlier. A newer certificate was used to sign Cisco RPD releases 10.9.1 and later and these versions continue to work. Cisco cBR-8 Converged Broadband Router releases 17.12.1z4 and 17.15.1z are compatible with Cisco RPD Release 10.9.1.
Cisco RPD, Cisco Smart PHY 300 and 600 Shelves upgrades or downgrades to Cisco RPD Release 10.9 or earlier fail.
Any upgrade or downgrade of Cisco RPD or of Cisco Smart PHY 300 or 600 Shelves must be to Cisco RPD Release 10.9.1 or later.
This issue affects all Cisco RPD and Cisco Smart PHY 300 and 600 Shelves products.
