CSCwq70078 | Manual Licensing For Cisco Secure Workload is Retired. Smart Licensing Must Be Used. |
As of April 1, 2025, Cisco Secure Workload software licenses cannot be renewed for any release earlier than Release 3.8.1.1.
For Cisco Secure Workload releases 3.8.1.1 and later, the use of Cisco Smart Licensing is required for software license renewals.
For Cisco Secure Workload releases earlier than Release 3.8.1.1, a legacy system was used to process license renewals. On April 1, 2025, Cisco decommissioned the legacy Cisco Secure Workload software licensing service. Existing licenses issued by the legacy system will continue to be valid until expiration.
As of April 1, 2025, Cisco Secure Workload software licenses cannot be renewed for any release earlier than Release 3.8.1.1.
For any Cisco Secure Workload system running a release earlier than Release 3.8.1.1, Cisco recommends upgrading to Cisco Secure Workload patch release 3.9.1.69 or later to ensure support of Cisco Secure Workload software license renewals.
Note: The Cisco Smart Licensing system does not allow customers to enable the Data Backup and Restore (DBR) or Federation features. Customers who want to use the DBR or Federation features and do not have them currently enabled should contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for assistance.
