CSCup80784 | TNC-E/TSC-E insertion into node running < 9.3 results in card unbootable |
If you insert a TNC-E/ TSC-E card in M6/M2 chassis with these impacted SW releases (9.2.0.x, 9.2.1.x, 9.2.2.x), it causes the card to not boot again in any software release.
The impacted cards were not supported in impacted software releases. The USB Host Controller was changed in TNC-E/TSC-E as compared to Transport Node Controller (TNC)/Transport Shelf Controller (TSC). The drivers for the new USB Host Controller Device(USBHCD) is available in Release 930, which is the first software release that supports TNC-E/TSC-E cards.
Refer to this FR for more information.
CSCup80784 : TNC-E/TSC-E insertion into node running prior 9.3 results in card unbootable.
The TNC-E/ TSC-E cards continuously try to boot unsuccessfully. The red LED keeps glowing on the faceplate of card.
For recovery of the TNC-E/ TSC-E cards in field, a Debug cable is required. After procuring this cable, contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) in order to execute the recovery actions.
The software/hardware combination mentioned in the previous table are impacted.
