A vulnerability in the Device Manager application of Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to inject arbitrary commands on the affected device.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted arguments to a specific field within the application. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to run commands as the administrator on the DCNM.
Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

Vulnerable Products
This vulnerability affects DCNM-Storage Area Network (SAN) deployments, including Open Virtual Appliance (OVA) deployments and Windows DCNM-SAN installations, as well as Linux DCNM-SAN installations.
This vulnerability affects Cisco DCNM software releases 11.0(1), 11.1(1), 11.2(1), and 11.3(1).
Products Confirmed Not Vulnerable
Only products listed in the Vulnerable Products section of this advisory are known to be affected by this vulnerability.
Cisco has confirmed that this vulnerability does not affect Cisco Data Center Network Manager releases 7.x and 10.x.

There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

Cisco has released free software updates that address the vulnerability described in this advisory. Customers may only install and expect support for software versions and feature sets for which they have purchased a license. Additionally, customers may only download software for which they have a valid license, procured from Cisco directly, or through a Cisco authorized reseller or partner. In most cases this will be a maintenance upgrade to software that was previously purchased. Fixed Releases
Cisco fixed this vulnerability in Cisco DCNM software releases 11.4(1) and later.
To download the software from the Software Center on Cisco.com, do the following:
- Click Browse All.
- Choose Cloud and Systems Management > Data Center Infrastructure Management > Data Center Network Manager.
- Choose a release from the left pane of the Data Center Network Manager page.
