Introduction

Cisco® Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) serves as the centralized administrative hub for managing Cisco Secure Firewalls. It provides comprehensive management across hundreds of firewalls, and enables unified policies application control, intrusion prevention, URL filtering, and advanced malware protection. FMC delivers real-time contextual intelligence about network resources, users, applications, devices, and threats, enabling security teams to make informed decisions and maintain a strong security posture. The FMC x800 series is Cisco's hardware-based firewall management platform, engineered to deliver exceptional performance and advanced security management capabilities. It includes three models: FMC 1800, FMC 2800, and FMC 4800.

Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center

Centralized Firewall Management

Manages up to 1500 Cisco Secure firewalls from a single unified console, simplifying security administration, and reducing errors and operational costs.
Defines threat prevention, URL filtering, malware protection, and advanced security settings in a single access control policy. Separates management domains through role-based access control to differentiate event data, reporting, and network mapping.

Visibility and Analytics

Discovers users, applications, and devices through passive network traffic analysis, providing context to assess attack impact. Accurately identifies and controls more than 8200 applications, enabling precise policy enforcement across cloud, SaaS, and custom workloads.
Provides customizable dashboards and reports with alerts, event contextual information, and network behavior monitoring to identify anomalies and maintain system health.

Threat Detection and Response

Incorporates Cisco Talos® threat intelligence feeds and third-party feeds for up-to-date protection against new attack methods, including IP-based and URL-based intelligence.
Correlates security events to identify stealthy attacks and triggers automated responses such as email, syslog, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and remediation modules.

Integration and Ecosystem

Makes integration with other Cisco products and third-party technologies possible through powerful, feature-rich application programming interfaces (APIs).
Integrates with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and VMware to create dynamic objects for policy. Controls access based on Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) security group tag, device type and location IP, and rapid threat containment.
