The Cisco® Secure Console Servers provide secure, high-density, out-of-band serial console access to routers, switches, firewalls, servers, storage arrays, and power distribution units in data centers and colocation facilities. When the production network is down, the console server is the last line of defense — the always-available management plane that keeps operations teams connected to critical infrastructure.
● Out-of-band management and recovery of remote network devices during primary network outages
● Centralized serial console access for lights-out data centers and edge sites
● SONiC-based OS — open, hyperscaler-adopted OS; vendor flexibility
● Hardware Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for Secure Boot — hardware root of trust; blocks unsigned firmware

The C8220TG-48A-O is a 1-Rack-Unit (1RU) fixed-form-factor secure console server. It provides 48x RJ-45 asynchronous serial ports for out-of-band console management, along with 1/10 GE uplinks for the management switch connectivity and runs on SONiC as an open, disaggregated OS.

1. Search: Log in to Cisco Commerce (CCW) and search for the base platform PID: C8220TG-48A-O.
2. Power configuration: The primary power supply is included. Add PWR-CH1-250WAC/2 if you require a redundant power feed.
3. Accessories: Select the C8220TG-ACCKIT-19 rack mount kit.
4. Software: Select the required software subscription: SO-TG-TRK.
5. Validation: Review the configuration summary in CCW to ensure that all required components are present and validate the order before submission.
