Cisco has Acquired Skyport Systems, Inc.

Accelerate priority areas across multiple portfolios, including Data Center and Service Provider.

SAN JOSE, Calif. –  On February 8, 2018 Cisco has completed its acquisition of Skyport Systems, Inc., a privately held company based in Mountain View, CA.

Skyport provides a cloud-managed, hyper-converged system that runs and protects business-critical applications. Cisco is looking to utilize Skyport’s intellectual property and seasoned software and network expertise to accelerate priority areas across multiple portfolios. Cisco’s service provider and data center customers will benefit from the acquisition of Skyport to help deliver on the promise of a network which is simplified, automated, and virtualized.

The Skyport team will join the Data Center – Computing Systems Product Group led by SVP/GM Liz Centoni, the Service Provider – Networking Group led by SVP/GM Jonathan Davidson, and the Core Software Group led by SVP Ravi Chandrasekaran.
