Hybrid work and security challenges

Following a period of massive growth, LTM faced significant challenges in unifying its multinational technology infrastructure into a seamless, secure, and scalable environment. Users experienced inconsistent and often slow network performance and problematic collaboration apps, generating a surge of IT support tickets. Security gaps from VPN access and multiple disconnected security tools increased the risk of exposure. The company needed a future-proofed, intelligent, and secure workplace infrastructure that could scale globally and simplify operations.

“Attackers aren’t just going after systems anymore—they’re coming in through people,” said Chandan Pani, Chief Information Security Officer at LTM. “We needed a true zero-trust approach—verifying every user, every device, every time. No assumptions, no shortcuts. It’s how we reduce risk, stop threats from spreading, and stay secure in a hybrid work world.”

AI-driven security built to evolve

LTM chose Cisco to replace its legacy security tools with Cisco Secure Access, a unified, AI-driven security platform. “We made the move to Cisco Secure Access because it’s built for today’s challenges,” said Pani.

“It brings AI-powered security that actually works with our existing network—and it keeps evolving. Cisco’s pace of innovation gave us confidence we were investing in the future, not just another tool.”

Cisco Secure Access enforces security at the user and device level. Granular zero-trust policies ensure users can access only authorized resources based on identity and device posture. Modern protocols optimize network performance, reducing latency and delivering a consistent experience for users worldwide.

Cisco Secure Access is managed in the cloud with Cisco Catalyst Center, which serves as LTM’s centralized console to simplify IT management and accelerate policy rollouts. Catalyst Center manages Cisco Catalyst switches, Wi-Fi 6/6E (with Wi-Fi 7 pilots underway), and Catalyst 8000 SD-WAN devices, providing a unified platform for network operations.

With built-in agentic AI capabilities, Catalyst Center enables predictive operations and automated troubleshooting, helping LTM build resilience and proactively resolve issues before they impact the business.

Seamless, rapid deployment at scale

LTM deployed Cisco Secure Access for 87,000+ employees in 117 locations in under 90 days without any disruption to business operations. The unified client replaced multiple agents, which greatly simplified the user experience and accelerated new employee onboarding. Cisco Services (CX) provided dedicated support from day one, including extensive testing, automation scripts, and 24/7 technical assistance to LTM IT.

The deployment included Cisco ThousandEyes endpoint agents, lightweight software installed on user devices that monitor network and application performance from the end-user perspective. They enable LTM IT teams to proactively detect and resolve connectivity and application issues across diverse environments.

“This gave us immediate visibility into our new security infrastructure, literally as it rolled out,” said Rajesh Kumar R, Chief Information Officer at LTM. “ThousandEyes Professional Services even created a CIO dashboard so we could clearly see our security posture and easily understand the business benefits at a glance.”

ThousandEyes enabled LTM to assess performance and user experience continuously, identifying more than 1000 potential service issues that were fixed before users were even aware of them.

Cisco AI Assistant within the ThousandEyes platform uses generative AI to provide real-time, proactive performance and security insights across applications, SaaS, and networks, leveraging data from ThousandEyes agents. “These are complex networks, so doing it rapidly but with assurance means getting value sooner,” said Kumar.

New collaboration, flexible financing

Once the deployment was complete, LTM embarked on the transformation of over 1000 meeting rooms with Cisco collaboration devices and Webex Control Hub. These solutions standardized collaboration globally, enabling intelligent meeting experiences with RoomOS AI, seamless cloud calling, and Microsoft Teams interoperability. Managed centrally through Webex Control Hub, the deployment enhanced room utilization by 119%, making spaces smarter and more efficient while simplifying device management and analytics.

Together, Cisco and LTM created a future-proofed workplace that now requires fewer IT people to support it than previously. Cisco solutions have enhanced security and network performance, improved operational efficiency, and standardized collaboration globally. Replacing four legacy security tools with a single unified Cisco Secure Access platform significantly reduced IT complexity, streamlined operations, and lowered support tickets by approximately 30%. Remote users now access critical applications 60% faster.

Cisco Capital supported the transformation with flexible financing, enabling LTM to rapidly roll out their secure and intelligent workplace solutions without the burden of a large upfront capital expenditure. This flexible financing approach allowed the company to implement infrastructure modernization globally, at scale, while paying over time.

“Cisco Capital’s funding was instrumental in accelerating innovation and transformation,” said Kumar, “helping LTM to be more ambitious and bold in their deployment of collaboration devices, security solutions, and AI-driven network management.”
