Reason for Advisory
In an extremely rare scenario when installing or upgrading Npcap driver version 0.94, a Microsoft Windows system might crash due to a known bug.

Issue Description
Cisco Tetration release 3.1.1.61 and earlier bundles Npcap release 0.94 within the Microsoft Windows agent installation package. The version 0.94 contains a bug that in extremely rare occasions when the Npcap driver is upgraded or installed might cause a system crash (blue screen of death). This has been observed only in two instances impacting two servers across hundreds of customers who have deployed the Windows sensors. This issue does not impact instances where the Windows sensors are already deployed and running.
Workaround
The Npcap version 0.991 or later contains a fix for the bug. Therefore, we recommend that you upgrade to Npcap version 0.991 or later. Tetration release later than 3.1.1.61 upgrades Npcap to the 0.991 version to resolve this issue.
