The control timer value is useful to adjust the time after which certain actions are performed. This includes the configuration of the values for call back delays, hook flash time intervals, interdigit long and interdigit short timer on the SPA122 and SPA112.
The objective of this document is to explain how to configure control timer values in regional voice settings on the SPA112 and SPA122.

Step 1. Log in to the Phone Adapter Configuration Utility and choose Voice > Regional. The Regional page opens:
In the Control Timer Values(sec) area, the following information is displayed:
Step 2. Enter a value for the Hook Flash Timer Min field. This is the minimum on-hook time before off-hook qualifies as hookflash. Hookflash is also known as flash. It is a button on the telephone used to execute functions such as call waiting or a three way ongoing call. The range is .1 seconds to .4 seconds.
Step 3. Enter a value for the Hook Flash Timer Max field. This is the maximum on-hook time before off-hook qualifies as hookflash. The range is .4 seconds to 1.6 seconds.
Step 4. Enter a value for the Callee On Hook Delay field. This is the on-hook time required before the analog telephone adapter will tear down the current inbound call. The range is 0 seconds to 255 seconds.
Step 5. Enter a value for the Reorder Delay field. This is the delay after the far end hangs up before the reorder tone is played. The range is 0 seconds to 255 seconds.
Step 6. Enter a value for the Call Back Expires field. This is the expiration time of a call back activation. The range is 0 seconds to 65535 seconds.
Step 7. Enter a value for the Call Back Retry Intvl field. This is the call back retry interval. The range is 0 seconds to 255 seconds.
Step 8. Enter a value for Call Back Delay field. This is the delay after it receives the first Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) 18x response before it declare that remote end is ringing.
Step 9. Enter a value for the Visual Message Waiting Indication (VMWI) Refresh Intvl field. This is the interval between VMWI refreshes to the CPE (Customer Premise Equipment). CPE are devices that are connected to telecommunication devices. CPE devices include switches, routers, phones. VMWI refresh interval is the interval that refreshes the VMWI.
Step 10. Enter a value for the Interdigit Long Timer field. This is the long timeout between entering digits when dialing. The range is 0 seconds to 64 seconds.
Step 11. Enter a value for the Interdigit Short Timer field. This is the short timeout between entering digits when dialing. The range is 0 seconds to 64 seconds.
Step 12. Enter a value for the Calling Party Control (CPC) Delay field. This is the delay after the caller hangs up when the analog telephone adapter starts removing the tip-and-ring voltage to the attached equipment of the called party. The range is 0 seconds to 255 seconds.
Step 13. Enter a value for CPC Duration field. This is the duration for which the tip-to-ring voltage is removed after the caller hangs up. The default is 0 seconds (CPC disabled).
Step 14. Click the Submit button to save changes
