Bias-Free Language

The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. Introduction

This page describes the changes that will occur to existing Orbital & XDR users/roles when the XDR mapping of Orbital RBAC roles goes live on May 13, 2026.

Orbital user access and capabilities prior to the change

Prior to this update, Orbital capabilities were determined exclusively by a user's Administrator status, independent of their XDR role. Access to the Orbital UI was granted manually where an existing Administrator was required to configure the user’s Access Level to "Write" within the Users table.

After May 13th, Orbital user capabilities will change as per the table below, depending on their XDR role.

Also important to note, all XDR users will be able to access the Orbital UI, regardless of their role.
