    Introduction

    This document describes how to enable User Identity Support in the Umbrella Android Client (UAC).

    Overview

    The Umbrella module on AnyConnect for Android, known as Umbrella Android Client, now supports user identities starting with AnyConnect release v4.9.00548.

    Refer to Push User Identities to enable User Identity sharing on your MDM consoles.

    How to Enable User Identities for Existing Deployments

    If you have already deployed the Umbrella Android Client (UAC), you can enable the User Identities feature by updating your AnyConnect version. However, since the mobile devices have already registered with the cloud, you can take extra steps:

    1. Delete all the existing Android devices from the Umbrella mobile devices page in Umbrella dashboard.

    2. Redeploy the App with the updated user configuration options as detailed in the deployment guide. With this, you can avoid having duplicate entries in the mobile devices page.
