    Introduction

    This document describes Umbrella SWG now being available on Chromebook devices.

    Overview

    We are pleased to announce the GA (General Availability) for Umbrella SWG on Chromebooks.

    With this release, Google Chromebook devices can be secured on or off network using Umbrella SWG, the same way we have for Windows and Mac. 

    We are achieving this functionality on Chromebook using an extension on Chrome browser called SWG Umbrella Chromebook Client, which helps intercept web traffic and redirect to Umbrella SWG Services. Also, customers who are using Google Directory services (Google Workspace, previously referred to as G Suite), are able to supplement Chromebook SWG with our Google Identity Integration for creating user-based Web Policies.
