Introduction
This document describes how to enable private IP address reporting for Chromebooks in Umbrella using DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) templates.
Overview
With Private IP Address Reporting, you can view the private IP addresses of Chromebooks directly in Umbrella dashboard reports. This feature is available for Chromebooks using both Default and Managed Guest Session DoH templates and is designed to enhance device visibility and management within your environment.
Key Features
Configuration Steps

Copy the DoH Template URI:
Retrieve the relevant DoH template from the Umbrella dashboard.

Insert Private IP Address Placeholder:
Add theDEVICE_IP_ADDRESSESplaceholder into the DoH template URI.

Update Google Admin Console:
Apply the updated DoH template in the Google Admin Console for the appropriate Organizational Unit (OU).
Important Notes
- All Chromebooks must be updated to ChromeOS 126 or later before you configure this feature.
- This avoids potential loss of internet connectivity and DNS protection.
- This feature is supported only for Chromebooks on Managed Networks.
