Splunk Enterprise Security does not offer a direct option to set a specific time duration (e.g., 5 minutes) for suppressing notable events. This article provides a workaround by configuring notable event suppression using a custom time duration defined by epoch time.
During the investigation, it was found that suppressing notables for 5 minutes can be set by providing the epoch time in the search field, and it works as expected. However, in the UI, it displays an incorrect value (e.g., Nov 10, 2024, 12:00:00 AM to Nov 10, 2024, 12:00:00 AM). This has been identified as a known issue.
To configure notable event suppression based on a custom time window, follow these steps:
`get_notable_index` _time>epochtime _time<epochtime
