Description

How to download the ITSI (IT Service Intelligence) app installer ?

  • The ITSI app cannot be installed from the Search-head UI, you need the zip installer with the ITSI suite apps.
  • ITSI is a premium app, it requires valid contact, entitlement, and license associated with your contact on splunk.com
  • The installer is on SplunkBase, but If you encounter issues to access the installer, it may be because it is not available for all to access directly.

Resolution

There are several ways to get ITSI installer, it depends of the type of deployment and the entitlement contract, and of what license you have.

On SplunkCloud :

  • If you are on SplunkCloud, please reach your Sales contact and ask about buying a dedicated search-head with ITSI.

On your own managed deployment :

If you have a contract with Entitlement for ITSI support

If you do not have an Entitlement for ITSI support

If you have a contract with Entitlement for ITSI support, and your splunk.com contact has been added to the entitlement list.

You can login to SplunkBase and download the ITSI app installer https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/1841

If you do not have an Entitlement, by example because you have not bought the product yet, or are trying to do a trial / POC.

You will not be able to download the ITSI installer. But you can instead use the IT-Essential-Work (ITE Work) app on SplunkBase. https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/5403

PS : If you do have an entitlement, but are not listed as contact,

  • Reach your Entitlement owner and admin to add you, or open a case to approve you being added
  • Reach your Splunk Success team, to confirm and add you to the Entitlement.
PS : the ITE-W installer app is identical to ITSI, and follows the same versions cycle.  see ITE-W documentation

But you will need a valid ITSI license to unlock the premium ITSI features, otherwise you will only have ITE-W features available.
So if you are planning to do a trial, please reach your Success & Sales team to ask for a temporary trial ITSI license.
