By default, Status Check metrics from Cloudwatch is not imported, but these can be enabled manually by the user via the API without the need to engage support.
Status Check metrics include:
- StatusCheckFailed
- StatusCheckFailed_Instance
- StatusCheckFailed_System
- StatusCheckFailed_AttachedEBS
1. Get the integration object from the API:
curl --request GET https://api.<your_realm>.signalfx.com/v2/integration/<integration_id> \
--header "X-SF-TOKEN:<access token>" \
--header "Content-Type:application/json" > integration.json
Please remove the following fields from the call as these would be populated automatically:
"created"
"createdByName"
"creator"
"lastUpdated"
"lastUpdatedBy"
"lastUpdatedByName"
3. Update the integration object via the API:
curl --request PUT https://api.<your_realm>.signalfx.com/v2/integration/<integration_id> \
--header "X-SF-TOKEN:<access token>" \
--header "Content-Type:application/json" \
--data "@integration.json"
To get the <integration_id> for the integration you want to turn EMR on for, you can again use the API and query for a specific name using the query parameter name:
curl --request GET https://api.<your_realm>.signalfx.com/v2/integration?name=*<integration name>* \
--header "X-SF-TOKEN:<access token>" \
--header "Content-Type:application/json"
The response object will contain a list of integration objects matching their query, all of which will have an ID attached.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Splunk does not collect StatusCheckFailed because it is a logical operator of StatusCheckFailed_Instance and StatusCheckFailed_System. Simple signalFlow should get StatusCheckFailed by using both the Instance and System metrics.
