Description

When upgrading from Splunk 8.1 to 9.0 will the KV store, mongodb and sever version as mentioned will be automatically upgraded or not.

Resolution

1. MongoDB 4.2 is the one shipped with 9.0.

2. KVstore engine to wired tiger can be done before 9, it is already available in some previous versions or can use a setting so that Splunk automatically does the engine migration as part of the upgrade if needed.

Add below line to /etc/system/local/server.conf prior to upgrade.
